How To Clean A Microwave 101

How To Clean A Messy Microwave 101
Last weekend one of the kids heated up soup in the microwave without placing a cover over the top.
As you can see the results were rather messy, on top of that it wasn't wiped up right away, and quickly became a dried on mess.
I don't know how many times I've asked the kids to please just place a paper towel over the top of the food so we don't have the issue, but every so often someone forgets.
Luckily it gave me the perfect excuse to share with you how I clean my microwave!

I prefer Viva® Vantage® Paper Towels when I'm cleaning since it has a scrubby texture, like a terrycloth, and durability.
They work great for hard to clean grime and can even be rinsed if needed to get the job done!
Viva® Vantage® Paper Towels are great for getting stainless steel appliances and glassware to shine, scrubbing stovetops, patio furniture, and any other grimy surfaces.
Viva® Paper Towels clean way more then just spills in our house and come in two types of everyday towels that work like cloth to stand up to any cleaning job, plus they come in choose a size sheets so I don't have as much waste.How-To-Clean-A-Microwave-101-Water-Essential-Oils.jpg
In a microwave safe container add 1 cup of water, 2 drops Lavender Essential Oil, 2 drops Lemon Grass Essential Oil, and 2 drops Orange Essential Oil.
The essential oils can be left out or just 4 drops of any one essential oil can be used.
I like using the essential oils while cleaning to help rid the house of unwanted odors.
Place in microwave and cook for 3 minutes.
Then allow the mixture to rest in the microwave for 5-10 minutes to allow the steam to break up the grime.
Be careful removing the hot water from microwave to avoid burns and pour down drain to freshen!
Then use  Viva® Vantage® Paper Towels to wipe off the stuck on grime.
I love the scrubby cloth like texture for difficult to clean jobs like the microwave.
Viva® Vantage® Paper Towels hold up well to multiple rinses and even work to wash dishes in a pinch!
Remove the microwave turn table and scrub clean or place in dishwasher if needed.
Not only is it simple to clean the microwave, and took less then 5 minutes after heating the water, but it makes the kitchen smell amazing too from the essential oils.
I also took the time to remind the kids the easiest way to keep from having to clean the microwave in the future is to moisten the corners of a paper towel and place over the top of food.
How to clean a grimy Microwave with water and essential oils. So easy to do and makes the house smell great!
