Bacon Egg and Cheese Grilled Sandwich

Friday, July 29, 2016
Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwiches have been one of my favorites for breakfast as long as I can remember. They are composed of crispy bacon, a layer or cheese, a runny egg or scrambled eggs sandwiched between two slices of sourdough bread or your favorite bread and grilled until toasty on the outside. Bacon and Egg Grilled Cheese are a favorite start to the morning.

The great thing about grilled breakfast sandwiches is that you can make them with whatever you have on hand. Ham or sausage can be substituted for bacon, don't have sourdough white or whole wheat can be used, and or coarse you can use whatever cheese you have on hand.

Whiskey Burgers

Whiskey Burgers, a heart beef patty, topped with bacon, and a homemade whiskey barbecue sauce. serenabakessimplyfromscratch.com
This weeks #SundaySupper theme is Hamburgers & Hot Dogs so after some careful deliberation with Colt we settled on Whiskey Burgers. It's a simple burger patty, covered with your favorite cheese, bacon, and a whiskey barbecue sauce!

Of course by dinner time after I had made Cheddar Cheese Hamburger Buns for the Whiskey Burgers we ended up with a thunder storm so Colt fried the burgers in the cast iron skillet. It was a much safer route then turning Colt into a human lightening bolt!

However, I will attest Whiskey Burgers are by far a household year around favorite burger whether we grill them or fry them on the stove. Let's just say I'm a huge fan!

Peach Whiskey Iced Tea

Friday, July 15, 2016
Peach Whiskey Iced Tea is a refreshing easy cocktail recipe that's perfect for summertime. A favorite whiskey and iced tea drink.

Two glasses of Peach Whiskey Iced Tea with a pitcher in the background on a wooden cutting board.

Colt and I were out shopping last weekend when the fresh peaches at the grocery store drew us in with their mesmerizing smell. I had already planned on making a Frozen Peach Cheesecake I will be sharing on Sunday, but Colt thought a cocktail was in order.

After a little bit of back and forth brainstorming we decided a Peach Whiskey Iced Tea would hit the spot at the end of a hot day!

Why make plain Iced Tea when Peach Iced Tea will take your taste buds to a whole other level.

The sweet juicy peaches combined with the black tea makes a wonderful treat on a hot summers day. Add a shot of Whiskey for adults, and you have a fun cocktail.

Not only perfect for parties, but to just sit back and enjoy.

Peach Whiskey Iced Tea is the perfect end to the perfect day.

You might also love making Whisky Peaches to garnish the cocktails and to use the whisky from the peaches for an extra special treat!
