I Want To Marry You Chocolate Chip Cookies

I Want To Marry You Cookies are the ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie! serenabakessimplyfromscratch.com

I saw I Want To Marry You Cookies a few weeks back over on Chris's blog The Cafe Sucre Farine and I knew I had to try them. I mean who can resist making cookies filled with semi-sweet chocolate, white chocolate, oatmeal and pecans in a buttery chocolate chip cookie?

When LJ was asking to make cookies I thought it would be the perfect excuse to make I Want To Marry You Cookies and tease him that we need to work on his cookie making skills because someday when he meets the right girl he'll need to make her I Want To Marry You Cookies to win her over.

We browned the butter a bit in these cookies even though the original recipe doesn't call for it, because everything taste better with brown butter, and tweaked the recipe slightly using a few tricks from Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies.

If you like white and dark chocolate, oatmeal and just a hint of cinnamon these cookies are for you.

They are amazing!

Cauliflower and Chicken Skillet

Thursday, February 22, 2018
Cauliflower with Chicken Skillet is an easy budget friendly meal under $2 a serving from Serena Bakes Simply From Scratch.

I originally posted Cauliflower with Chicken Skillet in the wee early months of blogging when I had no clue what I was doing.. I pointed, I shot and I posted...Life was easy, but the quality of the photos wasn't all that great..

A lot of our family favorite meals didn't receive the credit they deserve and One Skillet Chicken With Cauliflower is one of those dishes. It's easy, flavorful and super budget friendly.  When I can get Chicken Thighs and Cauliflower on sale this dinner is made for under $2 a serving and is really easy to make.

I love the clean up since it's all made in one pan. Plus the best part of all is the cauliflower being cooked in the chicken drippings then topped with the chicken and placed in the oven to finish cooking. It imparts a delicious flavor to the cauliflower and needs no additional butter.

This dish can be made with whatever chicken parts you have on hand. Chicken thighs, drumsticks or breast all work well. If you use breast meat the chicken will need to cook longer in the oven.

Our favorite Chocolate Fondue recipe is Hot Fudge Chocolate Fondue. We make it quite a bit. It's extraordinarily easy, and the perfect dessert for Valentine's Day or Easter.

It's always fun to dip things in chocolate and feed each other.

The options for dipping are endless, but a few of our favorites are strawberries, O Organics® Pretzel Rods, Banana, Apple, Dried Fruit, and Cookies.

It's one of those desserts I almost always have the stuff on hand to make, and is a favorite whether we are entertaining company of just enjoying a quiet night at home.

Young and old alike always enjoy choosing things to dip!

Garlic Dill Marinated Mushrooms

Friday, February 2, 2018
Marinated Mushrooms in a jar are a delicious addition to antipasti or Charcuterie boards for Christmas, New Years Eve and don't forget Super Bowl snacking. A slightly sweet and tangy mixture of white wine, honey, red pepper flakes, black peppercorns, garlic, and fresh dill with olive oil. These are great for parties and never last long. They can easily be made the night before and will be even better the next day. Marinated Mushrooms make an excellent savory garnish for cocktails.

Garlic Dill Marinated Mushrooms make a delicious addition to Black Olive Tapenade, Herbed Goat Cheese Spread, or Greek Feta Dip.

A white bowl full of Marinated Mushrooms with Marinated Mushrooms in a jar in the background.

It's like this: I ❤ Garlic Dill Marinated Mushrooms! They are the perfect addition to a Charcuterie Board for Super Bowl.

Garlic Dill Marinated Mushrooms are tangy like a pickle with a hint of sweetness from honey, and wonderful flavor of dill. Plus they are super simple to make in under 15 minutes. I think the hardest part was allowing them time to marinate in the fridge prior to devouring.

Colt loves them so much he likes to keep some hidden in the fridge to munch on after company leaves if we are entertaining. He even eats all the garlic!

I've tried a few different combinations like Tarragon Shallot Marinated Mushrooms, but the garlic dill seems to be the family favorite! If you want use different herbs just switch out the dill for tarragon or whatever else you like.
