Spooky Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies are perfect for a Halloween sweet treat.

Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies For Halloween

                I can't believe Halloween's almost here.
LJ and I decided to make Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies for a spooktacular sweet treat after such a hard couple of days.
He loves working in the kitchen and I love any excuse to spend time with him.
These are great for an older child to help out with and I think they make a super cute surprise for the  lunch box or a spooky sweet treat to serve on Halloween.
Our poor spiders only ended up with 6 legs but I think they look pretty cute and I promised him I would share these on the blog since they were so fun to make.

Best Garlic French Bread Dinner Rolls Recipe

Garlic French Bread Dinner Rolls are perfect with soup of for the holidays! A family favorite roll recipe from Serena Bakes Simply From Scratch.
Sorry the recipe for Best Garlic French Bread Dinner Rolls has been long over due.

I'm keeping it simple and to the point after along and difficult week.

We've been living on these rolls lately with lots of soup since the cold wet weather has arrived.

It's hard not to love a chewy crust french bread roll covered in garlic butter with herbs.

These are fairly easy to make and a great twist on my favorite French Bread Dinner Rolls recipe.

It's like Garlic French Bread in a perfectly compact roll perfect for mopping up gravy or dipping into soup.

These are the best roll recipe for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Best Garlic French Bread Dinner Rolls Recipe are always a hit!

Praying for Marysville-Pilchuck High School #PrayingMPHS

Friday, October 24, 2014

I had a post I was excited to finish up and share today but instead my day will be spent Praying over Marysville-Pilchuck High School.
My heart is heavy and deeply saddened that this has happened in our community.
My daughter has called crying so scared she might know someone injured and I let her know just to pray. It's all we can do at the moment.
As a mother I feel helpless.
We never had these kind of issues or worries while I was growing and I am just in shock.
Please pray for kids everywhere and these families that have been impacted by this horrendous incident.
Please hug your kids tight and make sure to talk to them about bullying and what to do if something like this happens.
Lord please just bring comfort to these children, families and friends.
Please heal those injured in this tragedy.
Let your love heal those who had to experience this trauma and prevent bitterness for growing in their hearts.
In Jesus name I pray Amen!
Psalms 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Crumb Bars

Pumpkin Cheesecake Crumb Bars
These are for those times when you can't decide whether you want pumpkin pie, cheesecake or something with crumb topping.

I hope I'm not the only one who runs into these complicated decisions...

These Pumpkin Cheesecake Crumb Bars are all those favorites in one easy to make bar. They didn't last long and I'm pretty sure it was due to Colt having at least two on the first night but they were even better after a day in the fridge.

The crumb topping adds a wonderful texture to contrast the creamy pumpkin cheesecake filling.

You can't go wrong with these bars! As long as you love pumpkin, cheesecake and crumb topping these will be your new found favorite.

Creamy Roasted Tomato Basil Soup With Orzo

Creamy Roasted Tomato Basil Soup With Orzo
I made this Roasted Tomato Soup with Orzo twice last week while I was fighting a really nasty cold because it was that good and the kids kept asking for me to make it again.
The hardest part of making this soup was convincing the kids to go out and pick the tomatoes in the garden because the spiders had built a few huge webs around the plants.
It was like orchestrating an army operation to take them out.
I should have never let my kids know I hate spiders because now they all seem to be fearfull too.
Luckly they were just some giant garden spiders so I bribed them to use a stick to move the webs and eventually we ended up with a few huge bowels of the most gorgeously ripe tomatoes.
Roasting the tomatoes really concentrates the flavor and the orzo adds heartiness perfect for the cooler weather.
I know you'll love this soup as much as we do!
