A Family Day Hiking At Denny Creek Near Snoqualmie Pass WA

Thursday, August 23, 2012

We took the kiddos up hiking last week when the weather here near Seattle finally topped 95 degrees to Denny Creek up near Snoqualmie Pass. It is one of my all time favorite short hikes and a must do anytime the weather here passes the 85 degree mark!

The water in the creek runs low this time of year perfect for the kids to slide on the slippery rocks with a few deeper pools under a few of the small waterfalls deep enough for a quick swim. The water happened to be icy cold but it felt wonderful after the 95 degree heat and the hike.

The kids sliding down the middle of the creek on an area of slippery rocks.

Oh my Mas! He's always catching his Mom's heart with his wonderful eyes.

Please ignore is hardened criminal tattoos. He went to spend the night at his Aunt's and both boys came home covered in peel and lick tattoos!

L.J. splashing in one of the lower falls trying to cool off. I'm not sure what we've been feeding him over the summer but he hasn't seemed to stop growing!

My little piece of hubby eye candy! Sorry all this was more for my own enjoyment! I found myself lingering on this photo and decided I better just add it!

Ok now wipe up the drool he is a married man after all. That man still makes me all twitterpated with sweaty palms after almost 13 years of marriage! Gosh I love you Colt!

Oh and this lovely girly dipping her toes in the creek.. She by passed me on height this summer by over an inch and I'm 5'5" so I'm not super short! I'm sure I'll be in trouble for sharing her lovely picture if she happens to peek at the blog but I love her too much not to share her gorgeous face!

Alright I did it! I added a picture of me by my self the hubby took! I wasn't going to do it for a million and half reasons no make up, my hairs a mess, I had been swimming, oh did I mention I have no make up and my hairs a mess. But I am who I am and 90 percent of the time I don't wear makeup out of shear laziness so this is me 90 percent of the time!

If you have arachnophobia STOP here! I don't want to leave you screaming at home terrified!

A ginormous spider we saw along the hiking trail! We thought he was pretty cool so we took a picture from a distance because this mother isn't big on spiders!

A view of the creek from the beginning of the hiking trail. What a fabulous day!

I wish you all could have been there to enjoy and have lunch with us on the rocks. You all are fabulously awesome.
