Mint Oreo Cookie Balls dipped in chocolate and topped with crushed oreos on a white platter.

If you love Oreos and mint this recipe is for you my friend.

Mint Oreo Cookie Balls taste like a creamy chocolaty minty Oreo cookie truffle dipped in mint chocolate.

A little bite of heaven for the holidays. Even if you don't like mint this recipes for you, just don't add it. (I promise not to tell.)

I've actually made Mint Oreo Cookie Balls twice already in the last few weeks because the first time Colt and the kids had a taste testing before we had finished the photos.

So you know they were so disappointed when they found out I had to make another batch, not!

The best part of making these the second time was the kids and Colt were more then willing to help roll, dip, and sprinkle the Oreo balls. Such a fun treat to make for the Holidays as a family.

I can guarantee you these will be made a few more times before Christmas.

Here's how to make these Oreo Cookie Balls recipe:

Oreo Cookies in a food processor.

Crush 36 Oreo Cookies until fine crumbs.

I used a food processor and pulsed until fine but they could easily be crushed in a large plastic ziploc bag.

Cream Cheese and Mint Extract being stirred together in a mixing bowl.

Beat together:
  • 8 ounces Softened Cream Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract or to taste

Mix on medium speed until creamy and  throughly combined.

Scrape sides of the bowl and add all the Oreo cookie crumbs to the cream cheese mixture. Mix on medium speed until throughly combined.

I added peppermint extract 1/4 teaspoon at a time until I had a nice light minty flavor at 1 teaspoon, if you like more mint feel free to add more to taste.

Mint Oreo Cookie Ball dough being rolled into a ball between 2 hands.

Shape into 48 (1") balls and place on a parchment or wax paper lined cookie sheet.

Mint Oreo Cookie Balls frozen on a cookie sheet.

Freeze Oreo balls for 10 minutes.

Place 1/2 cup heavy cream in a small pan over medium heat and warm until scalding hot, not boiling.

Remove from heat and add 16 ounces Semi Sweet Chocolate.

Allow chocolate to sit for about 5 minutes until melted. Stir chocolate well. Chocolate should be smooth and glossy. If it's a little too thick for dipping place chocolate back onto stove and stir until smooth.

Add 1 teaspoon Mint Extract and stir until well combined.

Remove from heat and use a fork to dip the Oreo Cookie Balls into melted mint chocolate.

Place in a single layer on a parchment or wax paper lined pan. Sprinkle with sprinkles or crushed Oreos for decoration.

Place back into the refrigerator for another hour or until firm.

We did half the Mint Oreo Cookie Balls sprinkled with red, green and white sprinkles.

The other half we used crushed Oreo's. Check out how dark and chocolaty the filling is! So divine.

I still can't decide if I like the crushed Oreos or sprinkles best on top, you can be the judge!
