To die for hearty, creamy Seafood Chowder from
This Seafood Chowder is to die for.

It's perfect for a New Years Eve party or just because your craving hearty, seafood, comfort food. I usually make Cioppino for Christmas Eve, but I was craving something a little bit heartier this year, and Seafood Chowder hit the spot. Colt ate 3 bowls alone, and the kids just couldn't get enough. You can use whatever seafood is on sale or available. Lobster and mussels would also make great additions, the possibilities are endless.

Make this soup soon.

Your stomach will thank you for it!

How To Make Seafood Stock

Tuesday, December 27, 2016
I made Homemade Seafood Stock Christmas Eve. Not only will you save money not having to purchase boxed stock but it also tastes so much better then anything you'll find at the store. Seafood Stock is the perfect base for Gumbo, Seafood Chowders, and Cioppino.

Seafood Stock is relatively easy to make and a great use for any Shrimp, Crab, or Lobster Shells you have on hand. I will usually freeze the shells until I've accumulated enough to make this easy Seafood Stock.
I made Seafood Chowder using the Seafood Stock for Christmas Eve this year! Make sure to come back on Friday for the recipe!

Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Easy to make Broccoli Cheddar Soup.
My kids could live off of Broccoli Cheddar Soup and be totally content for probably the rest of their lives. It's in the top 5 most requested recipes in our house. It's hearty, creamy, and according to the kids even better then Panera! It's perfect cold weather food!

Broccoli Cheddar Soup is a traditional dinner the night we decorate our Christmas tree, so this year like the previous 10 years I made a big pot of this family favorite. It's a tradition I always look forward to this time of year.

It also happens to be simple enough to make during the week as an easy dinner, or weekend lunch, with sourdough bread. Broccoli Cheddar Soup reheats well if your lucky enough to have leftovers, which usually doesn't happen around our house.

Butterscotch Banana Pudding Pie With Toffee Walnuts

Butterscotch Banana Pudding Pie with Toffee Walnuts
I promised you the recipe for Butterscotch Banana Pudding Pie the other day when I shared my recipe for Toffee Walnuts. This recipe is very similar to my Banana Cream Pie, other then using brown sugar instead of granulated. I've made more complicated versions of Butterscotch Pudding in the past where I caramelized the sugar prior, but I find brown sugar worked perfect for this variation, while keeping cook time to a minimum.

I'm usually a simplest when it comes to Banana Pudding anything but the Toffee Walnuts really add a whole new level of deliciousness that can't be missed. Even Colt moved this into his top three desserts which now consists of Banana Pudding Cheesecake, Butterscotch Banana Pudding Pie with Toffee Walnuts, and Banana Cream Pie. What can I say the man has good taste!

Toffee Walnut Recipe
After my physical therapy appointment a few weeks back, Colt and I decided to make a date night out of our trip to Seattle, and wait out rush hour traffic. We had a nice dinner, and of course when the waiter arrived with the dessert menu we couldn't turn it down. He recommended Butterscotch Pudding with Toffee Walnuts, and we were sold! Each bite was like tasting heaven.

It was so good I had to recreate it, but into a Butterscotch Banana Pudding Pie with Toffee Walnuts. I can't wait to share the rest of the recipe with you later in the week. Toffee Walnuts are delicious on their own, as a garnish to a salad, or to add a little crunch to your favorite dessert. The possibilities are endless.

Toffee Walnuts also make a great addition to the holiday candy trays or served with cheese.
