Chicken Stock

This is my base for chicken soup and many other things. The addition of fresh ginger is very mild but great for anyone recovering from a cold! When I make chicken noodle soup I usually throw in a jalapeno seeded, especially if we are recovering from a cold!


Ingrediants
  • 1 whole chicken  4 - 5 pounds insides removed and washed
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 1/2  a large onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery ribs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried or fresh rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
Preparation instructions:
            
            Place all ingredients into a large pot. Cover with water and cook over low  for 2 hours or until chicken falls off the bone. Remove chicken and strain the broth.  So easy now you can freeze the broth or make multiple meals!
