Purple Antioxidant Super Smoothie

Purple-Antioxidant-Super-Smoothie.jpg
Colt is still doing all the photography, cooking and cleaning around the house since by body hasn't fully recovered from the accident.
This morning he was up making what was discussed the night before has a Green Machine Super Smoothie but he did what he did best and made a Purple Antioxidant Super Smoothie.
It passed the kids with flying colors and I think he took another rock'n picture, if I do say so myself.
We received a huge shipment of Chobani Greek Yogurt last week and if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you saw my lovely surprise.
Colt's been doing all the shopping since I can't drive and was a little surprised to come home from my physical therapy appointment to find 8 containers of different Chobani in the fridge.
Lorna was sweet enough to unpack the box when it arrived. I'm sure she was a little disappointed it wasn't something more exciting like new clothes from Nordstoms but who can blame her?
This smoothie is packed with so many favorite super foods like:Blackberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, Kale and a scoop of Spirulina Algae.
A super boost to any morning!

Pineapple Strawberry Raspberry Smoothie Recipe

Saturday, August 17, 2013
Pineapple Strawberry Raspberry Smoothie Recipe is a favorite for a busy morning breakfast.

We've been on a smoothie kick lately and with back to school right around the corner I figure there's no better time share our favorite busy morning breakfast Pineapple Strawberry Raspberry Smoothie.

Smoothies are a staple in our house since they are so easy to make and delicious.

These are our go to breakfast when the kids forget to do their homework the night before, one of the kids shoes turns up missing, and the dog somehow got into the garbage can and made a huge mess. Or the best mornings are when buddy sneaks out the door as the oldest is leaving for school and I have to toss on stretch pants and run around the neighborhood chasing after him as he stops to look at me, waits till I get close, and then he takes off at 90 miles an hour only to finally decide he's tired and return home with about 20 minutes to get the kids out the door to school.

I hope I'm not alone in this kind of morning excitement.

I usually sneak in a few veggies but for this particular combo Colt and the kids picked
Pineapple Strawberry Raspberry Banana.

Favorite facts: Did you know Pineapple contains a anti-imflammatory enzyme called bromelain?
Bromelian naturally helps reduce inflammation in the body.

The best way to choose a fresh pineapple is by smell, if it smells like a sweet pineapple it's ready to eat, if the pineapple doesn't smell sweet it will not ripen any further at home.

Pineapples stop ripening once picked unlike other fruit.

Orange Creamsicle Smoothie taste just like the childhood favorite Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream. It's makes the perfect healthy breakfast or dessert treat!

Orange Creamsicle Smoothie recipe tastes just like the childhood favorite orange creamsicle ice cream but healthier.

This post was written by my sweet friend Sonja Sarr of Practical-Stewardship.com. I met Sonja around a year ago when she was kind enough to invite me over for lunch and made an Amazing  Chocolate Cheesecake that was Gluten Free and Dairy Free, let me tell you it was amazingly delicious and a definite must make!

Sonja was kind enough to stop by the other day with some wonderful homemade baguette still hot out of the oven with some fresh bruschetta for my family, what a wonderful afternoon lunch for us to enjoy and offered to write a guest post to help me out, such a blessing!

Please stop by Practical-Stewardship.com and tell Sonja hi, she has tons of delicious recipes, tasty healthy meal plans and workouts on her site! She's on my list of must read blogs!

I have felt truly blessed to have the support and prayers of all of my friends and family during this time and feel truly grateful for each and everyone of you. I can't wait to be back to regular posting and cooking in my kitchen but for now I feel grateful and blessed for all of the help I received.

Thank you again Sonja you are such a blessing!
Did you ever have those orange creamsicle ice cream treats as a child?  How about those little portions of orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream with the little wooden spoons?

Well, an orange creamsicle smoothie taste just like those orange creamsicle treats and hits the spot with this nice, warm stretch of weather we've been having in the Pacific Northwest.
