Strawberry Grapefruit Whiskey Iced Tea

Strawberry Grapefruit Whiskey Iced Tea came about as a collaborative process between Colt and I. I had suggested to him we should do another iced tea like the Peach Whiskey Iced Tea I shared last summer. As we wandered around the grocery store checking out the produce we settled on Strawberry Grapefruit, two of my favorite combinations when in season.

I usually add the whiskey as I'm serving the cocktails to have a nonalcoholic option available so everyone can enjoy the Strawberry Grapefruit Iced Tea.

It's perfect for gatherings like Mother's Day brunch, Memorial Day, or a Father's Day BBQ!

I also like to keep a pitcher of the Strawberry Grapefruit Iced Tea on hand just to enjoy at the end of a warm day on the patio.


Puree 2 cups Diced Strawberries with 1/3 cup Sugar until smooth.

Steep 5 bags Black Tea in 3 cups Boiling Water for 5 minutes.


Remove tea bags, and stir in 8 cups Ice to cool the tea. 


Stir in 1 cup Fresh Grapefruit Juice and Juice of 1 Lemon.


Stir in Strawberry Puree. Add additional sugar to taste, it will depend on berry sweetness, and personal preference how much additional sugar will be needed.


Fill glass half way full of ice, and pour 1/2-1 shot of your favorite Whiskey over the top.

Strawberry Grapefruit Whiskey Iced Tea

Fill with Strawberry Grapefruit Iced Tea. Garnish with a strawberry with a slit up the middle if desired.

  • 5 bags Black Tea
  • 3 cups Hot Water
  • 8 cups Ice
  • 2 cups Strawberries, Diced
  • 1/3 cup Sugar Plus Additional To Taste
  • 1 cup Fresh Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 whole Lemon, Juiced
  • Whiskey
  • Ice For Serving
  • Additional Strawberries To Garnish Rim


  1. Steep tea in water for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags, and add ice.
  2. Puree strawberries with 1/3 cup sugar until smooth.
  3. Stir strawberry puree, grapefruit juice, and lemon juice into iced tea. Taste tea and add additional sugar to taste as needed.
  4. Fill a glass 1/2 full of ice. Pour 1/2-1 shot whiskey over the top of ice. Fill with Strawberry Grapefruit Iced Tea. Garnish glass with a strawberry.
